Two lovely nights celebrating the release of @anniemacmanus’ new book ‘The Mess We’re In’ ft. fellow Irish legend @weemissbea, a crowd of Irish women (who’s toilet craic was on point, as you’d expect), an Irish pub, Irish music, lots of lovely faces I haven’t seen in a while and plenty of Taytos.

For a very sunny bank holiday soundtrack you can listen back to my latest show. I promise its a great addition. It just so happens to summarise my exact mood when listening to Soulacoasta II, the new album from Close Counters. So excited to have them on the show tonight 💫 soul, house, jazz, broken beat and samples - a seamless DJ set style album which we talk about making including a video set in London and one of a girl dancing on her own 🙋🏼‍♀️

Are you even northern? 🤷🏼‍♀️ Aisha has a different view on the beginning of the year and I like it. Anyone else happy it’s February? Had a massive laugh with @aishhwilliams last week sharing tracks that make us feel happy, introducing you to new discoveries and old loves, talking Lauryn Hill (anyone heard of her? - this question will make sense), music to sleep to, winter sun and music tastes, of course. The music is a lovely mix with soul, DANNCEEE, rap, indie, r&b and some modern jazz. Warning some of it is an ear worm.

It’s finally the end of January so to say good riddance I’m back in the studio and I’ve invited @aishhwilliams ➡️ (who presents Happy Hour) to come and share some songs which have got her through grey, dark January. Tonight 6-8pm, my ✨highlights of 2022 show, all favourite releases plus @terra__kin joins me to talk about the new EP ‘Too Far Gone’ which came out in October and life as an artist so far. Undoubtedly my favourite new artist of 2022 (we initially spoke at Connect) so had to finish the year with them coming on the show, their music has been a solace.
